Do you have a passion for masters coaching?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated coach to deliver land and water sessions for our Masters Women’s racing squad which consists of over 30 athletes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a committed and friendly squad, helping them achieve their rowing goals. You will be driving the squad towards performing at our key racing events throughout the winter (pairs, fours and masters head) and summer (British Rowing Masters Championships and Henley Masters) as well as other local events. You will be supported by the squad coordinators to help with the admin of the squad.
Key Responsibilities
•Deliver structured and engaging coaching sessions every Saturday morning (2 x 2 hour session) and Sunday morning (1 x 2 hour session) on the Tideway.
•Provide technical guidance and support to improve crew performance.
•Work collaboratively with other supporting coaches to plan sessions aligned with the squad’s training and racing objectives.
•Draft a squad land training programme in line with season objectives and select racing crews in line with the squad criteria.
•Work collaboratively with the squad coordinators and coaches from other squads to ensure alignment to the club development plan.
•Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for the crew.
•Ensure safe navigation and adherence to Tideway-specific rowing rules.
Requirements
•Proven experience coaching rowing, preferably at the Masters or senior level.
•Strong technical knowledge of rowing and sculling techniques.
•Awareness of safety practices on tidal rivers (Tideway-specific knowledge preferred).
•UKCC Level 2 Rowing Coach qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•A passion for helping masters athletes achieve their potential.
