Maidenhead Rowing Club sits on our own beautiful
stretch of the River Thames and offers outstanding facilities. Our large,
modern clubhouse includes:

Our adult membership is growing rapidly, particularly
within our competitive senior squads, which now have ambitious targets. The
Senior Men aim to qualify for Henley Royal Regatta by 2027, and the Senior
Women are building towards regular appearances at Henley Women’s Regatta. Our
Masters section are also seeking to expand their wins at local regattas as well
as compete at events such as Henley Masters. Our recreational rowers are also
motivated to improve technically and physically, with many seeking to step up
their training.

About the Role
As Adult Head Coach, you will lead the development of
our adult rowing programme across senior, masters, and recreational squads. You
will be responsible for growing a performance-focused training environment that
supports athletes from club level through to national competition.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver a training programme aligned to
athlete development and squad goals
●
Lead water and land-based coaching sessions, including
weekend mornings and some evenings alongside volunteer coaches
●
Provide technical feedback to individuals and crews,
while offering strategic guidance to squads
●
Collaborate with volunteer coaches and squad captains
and the Club Captain to build a unified coaching structure
●
Develop and mentor assistant coaches across the club
●
Support athletes at key races and events (e.g., Henley
qualifiers, major heads, regattas)
●
Promote safe, fair, and clean sport through education
on safeguarding and anti-doping
About You
We are looking for someone passionate about coaching
and ready to help shape the future of adult rowing at Maidenhead. You should
bring:
●
Experience competing or coaching at a high-performance
level, with a proven track record of developing senior or adult squads. Ideally
5-10 years of coaching experience.
●
The ability to inspire, organise and lead athletes with
a range of experience
●
Enthusiasm and energy, with a growth mindset and
collaborative approach
●
A strong understanding of adult athlete development
Qualifications & Requirements:
You must hold:
●
British Rowing Level 2 coaching qualification (or
equivalent)
●
Full UK driving licence
●
RYA Level 2 Powerboat (or equivalent)
●
British Rowing’s Safeguarding & Protecting Children
module
