London School of Economics Rowing Club is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced rowing coach to lead our programme for the 2026/27 academic year. Based out of UL Boathouse in Chiswick, we offer our members access to a small fleet of boats, regular erg sessions, and a welcoming environment.
Role Overview:
Start Date –– 28th September 2026
Primary Location –– ULBC, 81 Hartington Road, Chiswick, London W4 3TU
Secondary Location –– London School of Economics, Houghton St, London WC2A 2AE
Salary –– £25 per hour
Minimum Hours –– 8 per week (during term time only)
Contract Type –– Part-time / Sessional
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on-water coaching sessions multiple times per week, delivering structured and technically focused outings.
- Provide detailed technical feedback to individual rowers and crews to support ongoing performance development
- Support the selection process for competitive crews
- Deliver ergometer and tank coaching sessions where on-water outings are limited, especially over the winter period
Essential Qualifications:
- British Rowing Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent)
- Power Boat Level 2 License (RYA or equivalent)
- DBS from the last 2 years
- First Aid Qualification
- Public Liability Insurance (£5 million minimum)
- Referee able to provide character reference
Desirable:
- Experience in a university sport or student club environment
- Knowledge of the Tideway Code
