Sons of the Thames Rowing Club is seeking an
Assistant Rowing Coach to support the development of our competitive
race squads and contribute to the success of the club crews.
Working
alongside and under the mentorship of our Head Coach, Peter Haining, the
successful candidate will lead on‑water coaching sessions on Saturday and/or
Sunday mornings, providing clear, technical, individualised feedback to rowers
and crews. You will also support the squad selection process for training and
racing, ensuring athletes are placed in the right boats to perform at their
best.
In addition,
you will play an important role in helping us attract and retain new athletes
who are committed to competitive rowing.
This role is
ideal for an experienced rower who is ready to begin or further their coaching
career - with the guidance of an exceptional Head Coach and without the
pressure of running a full programme.

experienced rower with strong technical understanding
· * Someone
enthusiastic about developing athletes and contributing to a positive squad
culture
· * Ideally
someone who is Level 2 qualified, or intent on working towards their coaching
qualifications
· * A
competent and confident launch driver
START
DATE: September 2026
HOURS: You will be required to coach at
least one morning each week (Saturday or Sunday) for 3 hours (0800-1100).
FEES: payment dependent on experience and
qualification.
