The City of Cambridge Masters Men's squad seeks a cox for a regular outing at 9-11am most Saturday mornings and for another weekday evening (likely Tuesday night) or morning by arrangement (total potential 4-6 hours per week). In addition to the opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills with a friendly group, the squad is also willing to make a mutually agreed payment per outing to recognise and regularise the time commitment required for the role. If you are in the Cambridge area, confident at coxing and willing to commit to a regular outings slot please get in touch! 

More detail on the club >>> City of Cambridge Boat Club is a successful and strongly growing club with a modern fleet of boats, a fantastic boathouse, and an inclusive positive attitude with its members. Over the past few years, the Men's and Women's Performance crews at City have built a national reputation, while in the past 12 months the Masters squad has also initiated a winning culture with national masters success at the small boat level. The next step for the Squad is to broaden out this achievement into larger boats thus your focus would be coxing 4+ and 8+ initially at Masters level to train on the Cam and also perhaps at occasional races depending on your availability. 

Given the culture in the club, you can expect to be treated with respect and courtesy at all times, while at the same time you should find the outings fun and with a constant focus on boat speed improvement. Outings will be typically on your own to an agreed plan with our coach, also occasionally with a coach accompanying you on the bank, thus you should either be competent to navigate and cox solo now or be willing to develop to achieve this outcome fairly soon. All equipment will be provided and a support structure will be in place to ensure all your development needs are met through the year.

As a group we are of course more than willing to be instructed by any adult of any age or background who has the confidence and potential to assume a leadership role at the front of the boat. As such we welcome applications from anyone from any rowing background, all the way from an individual that perhaps has coxed in the recent past at University or College level and now lives in the Cambridge area ... to perhaps an individual that wishes to come back to Masters coxing after a period of absence from the sport.
