The University of Worcester Rowing Club are seeking a
volunteer coach to work with our senior programme (men and women). For the right applicant there could be an
opportunity to run the Senior Men’s programme. This year, for the first time,
we have athletes who have competed at junior international standard and aspire
to row at senior international standard. Our athletes are mostly home-grown
through our beginner programme. Applicants will need to enjoy the challenge of
developing new (1 year) rowers, as well as working with performance athletes.
Responsibilities will include; working with the Head Coach
to set the training plan, delivering safe and effective training sessions on
weekend mornings between 0730 – 1230. Performance athletes are expected to
train at least daily 6 days per week, however coaching attendance at all of these
sessions is not a requirement.
A Level 2 Rowing coaching qualification is desirable, as is
a first aid certificate. There may be possibilities to assist the right
candidate in getting their coaching qualification, as well as first aid certification.
